1. “My items lose value once they have been in storage”

Often people say that if they store something valuable, it loses some of it’s value. However, most of the Rent A Space customers are not storing high value items. This excuse is often used by people who want to store general household overflow or items that, actually, are priceless such as family photos and old children’s toys. All of our household storage units are clean and dry, so any normal, household overflow stored in them won’t get damp or damaged whilst stored with us.

2. “I’ll only fill the space up with more stuff”

So in some cases, this might be true. But we find that often, people’s reasons for needing extra space is not because they keep buying new things but because they just can’t bring themselves to get rid of the old ones. Usually it’s a case of ‘well i might need it one day” so by moving these items into storage you’re giving yourself a little extra space and you won’t necessarily fill it up.

3. “Self storage is too expensive”

Again, this can be true in some cases. But often people get a quick quote on a self storage unit that isn’t right for what they need.
